Personal Branding: A Multi-Generational Perspective

Tuesday 9:45 – 11:00 AM

Session Description

Social media has reinforced the importance of personal branding in both the workplace and in the entrepreneurial world, giving all professionals the opportunity to strategically differentiate themselves and gain a competitive advantage. Whereas each generation uses the social platforms differently, the common thread is the desire for professional growth. In this enlightening and entertaining program, JD Gershbein will compare and contrast social media behaviors across each generation, and reveal how Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, Millenials, and, ultimately, Gen Zers can harness the strategic power of personal branding in cultivating and converting new business or career opportunities.

Learning Objectives

  1. To illuminate the manner in which each cohort (Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, Millenials, and Gen Zers) defines its brand in an ever-changing, increasingly competitive marketplace
  2. To explore how the various generations leverage social platforms (primarily LinkedIn) to create unique appeal, spark engagement, and drive positive outcomes
  3. To outline a basis for predicting how each generation will leverage brand strategies in the future to achieve professional and personal goals
